Plow City Show to feature
rare Quad City brands and history

This is a new attraction in addition to the regular slate of extensive themed displays. The first Plow City Show will be indoors at the Iowa Building at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. A diverse selection of tractors, implements, hit and miss engines, and memorabilia will make this show a memorable one.

Named to honor the agricultural manufacturing heritage of the Quad Cities area, the Plow City Show will feature a variety of rare pieces from locally built brands like John Deere, Rock Island Plow Company, Root & Vandervoort, Heider, J.I. Case, International Harvester, and French & Hecht.

Photos and history of local companies will be featured, and comparative displays will highlight the competing tractor models for different eras. The show promises a variety of unique pieces with unique stories.

Loren Book and Mike Jahn, are contributing to collection of locally manufactured items and memorabilia from Moline Plow Co & Universal Tractor, a major company in the area with an interesting tractor not commonly seen. Check their website for some history and follow their Facebook page to find out more about what's happening today with restorations and collections.

Interested in bringing something to the show? We're looking for restored or nice original pieces, stories or displays to accompany equipment, as well as memorabilia and literature. Contact Ed Vieth, Gathering of the Green display committee chair, at 563-271-3551.
