Waterloo Boy Bathtub Tractor – Dan Thomas will once again explain the history and restoration of the famous Waterloo Boy Bathtub tractor, which he has graciously shown at various shows, kindly inviting spectators to take turn at the wheel. Model "G" 101 - Intro to all things G-related! – This will be a panel presentation on the Big Ole’ John Deere Model "G"! The largest row-crop tractor in the John Deere line of General-Purpose tractors in its time. We will discuss the history of the "G" and all the variations, significant changes, options, production numbers, and share information on toys and memorabilia as well. If you are a "G" guy or gal, love G’s, or you don’t know what all this "G" fuss is about, come on out and learn.
Model "G" tractors - and in-depth discussion – This is a panel discussion and presentation to get into the brains of all the "G" folks! From experimentals to serial and production numbers, truths, myths, legends, and lies. Come join your fellow G’geeks and share your knowledge or join the discussion.
Model “R” Diesel - Special Equipment & Common Issues – Are you a fan of the first John Deere diesel? If so, don't miss this seminar which will provide a brief history of the Model “R” with an emphasis on its factory options, led by Ethan Byrum. This will include a presentation of common problems ranging from the engine to the power-trol that collectors could encounter during restoration & use. Calling all "R" owners and enthusiasts, please join us for this session.
Model "H" tractor - with new discoveries – Dan Price will lead this workshop with a focus on the Model “H” tractor and will include background on the development of the “H”, features and details of the four versions produced, production numbers and war-time effects on production. We will also cover the evolution of the tractor and parts changes throughout its production life, and many other details which may be of interest to “H” collectors. Please join us for this informative session.
"GP" tractors - Are we still learning new things about the GP? – Come to learn, with Jack Beck, about the early PTO and Power Lift or "Chamber of Horrors"! Those who follow the Facebook group on the Model GP know that Jack Beck freely shares his valuable knowledge. Jack grew up on a dairy farm near Litchfield, Nebraska. Retired from careers in teaching, oil industry research and motors sports, Jack collects, restores, uses and shows Models D, GP, B, and many of their implements. Since presenting his seminar in 2022, Jack has learned even more information about the evolution of the GP and looks forward to sharing it with you.
820 & 830 Diesel Repair – This workshop is intended to be as informational as possible for those interested in the total repair and restoration of the John Deere diesel tractor. The information to be presented is based on Albert Ulrich’s experience over the years of having completely disassembled and reassembled many of these tractors of different models in all states of disrepair and operating condition. Albert has even had to remanufacture some parts which are unavailable today. These tractors, upon completion, were work-ready for the farm, or show-ready. Albert’s session will be filled with important information and of help to all who attend. Come with your questions!
Two-Cylinder Dubuque Tractors & Implements – Bil Miller & friends will lead this session with a strong focus on 2-cylinder tractors built at Dubuque. From the Model "M" all the way up to the 2030, with an emphasis on the 40, 420 and 430 models. Join us for a look through CJ codes, production numbers and the variations of chassis for the Dubuque-built tractors. We will also discuss the various attachments that were specific to these models. If you're a Dubuque fan, you won't want to miss this session!
LP Tractors – Do you own an LP tractor? Or are some of the challenges that come with them cause you to avoid them? Don't be scared. Join Tim Andrews as he shares his journey of discovery in all things LP-related. Tim's experience with various LP components, including liquid/vapour valves, converters, and electric shut-off will all be shared in this informative session.
NEW GENERATION & GEN 2 SESSIONS
New Gen - cylinder heads & cooling systems – Join Bill and Jared Dies for an interesting discussion of your tractor's cooling system. Bill and Jared specialize in restoring and rebuilding radiators and have worked on nearly every type of two-cylinder John Deere head, which have come from at least 14 different states and two countries. Topics will include radiator and engine head inspection, diagnosis and repair. Head and valve rebuilding tips will also be covered, as well as currently available coolant types, which will be compared. Put this workshop on your list and come with questions.
4 & 6-Cyl. Deere diesels – Ron Schroeder's workshop will look at the history of John Deere-built engines. He will cover why inline over V engines and why Deere went that way. He will also look at fuel systems and current design engines. This will be a very open forum workshop and he will try to answer any questions about your problems with engines as best he can.
Open station tractors – You asked for it, here it is! The Open Station mafia will be sharing their knowledge of GenII open station and 4-post ROPS tractors with seminar attendees. This, the next hottest item in the hobby, has drawn a huge following and there's lots to learn and know about these unique, open-operator-station units. Please join this great team of enthusiasts while they share their knowledge and experience.
IMPLEMENTS & GAS ENGINE SESSIONS
Tractor Mower and Hay Tool Development 1929-1940 – Those who follow the Classic Green Facebook group know that Jack Beck freely shares his valuable knowledge. Jack grew up on a dairy farm near Litchfield, Nebraska. Retired from careers in teaching, oil industry research and motors sports, Jack collects, restores, uses and shows Models D, GP, B, BO Lindeman, and many of their implements. Once again, Jack will share information on the development of John Deere Ground Driven and Power Mowers designed to be used with tractors. Development of other hay tools for use with a tractor will also be discussed.
John Deere Combines (No. 12-A to No. 55) – In his workshop, Chris Fink will be speaking on John Deere combines from 1940 through 1969. He will cover the 12A, 25, 30, 40, 42, 45, 55, 65, 95, 96, 105, and 106. He will discuss the highlights for each model, and the evolution between each model. There should be plenty of good discussion of these machines, because Chris has had the opportunity to work on most of these combines. Waterloo Boy engines – description coming soon!

Tire care & preservation – What is "dry rot" and what causes it, and how to prevent or minimize it? What is the effect of UV rays on tires stored outdoors? Does ply thickness matter relative to tire life expectancy? How have materials changed and why are some decades-old tires still in service while relatively new tires crack within a few years? What products really help prevent deterioration? If any of these questions have crossed your mind, come to this seminar and hear explanations and advice from Todd Friedrich, who has supported past Gatherings, and for some years has studied the tire industry and developed his own line of products for our hobby.
Tires – finishing off that restoration project – Todd Friedrich, will once again, provide info on the types of tires available for tractors and implements and the availability of older tread patterns. He will cover where the tires are manufactured, and the materials used to make them.
Shop safety & hauling your equipment – Join Scott and Art Fellows for this session which will focus on being safe while working on your tractor and will include ways to make a safe shop that won't break the bank. We will look at everything from small "Harry homeowner" to large dealer shops. Safety in the field and safe trailering practices will also be discussed. We hope to give you many ideas on better safety practices, and where to find economical shop equipment.
What's new with decals – Dan Peterman will lead this session and will cover a bit of history about Jorde Decals, how it began, and how it has transitioned to new owners. The session will also discuss new products available, application tips, and hopes to answer any questions you may have about your projects in relation to decals.
Loctite products – Brad Perkins will describe the many Loctite products available for successful repairs in many projects. He will describe the procedures for proper preparation and application of the products, including thread lockers, gasketing and adhesive products. If you've got an upcoming project, or one already in the shop, come learn all there is to learn about Loctite products.
All about gauges & steering wheels – Join Jerry Trcka while he highlights the running changes in oil, temperature and amperage gauges for various John Deere tractors. He will also be able to describe the care he gives towards authentic graphics and accurate indications. Jerry will also take time to describe his work in restoration of steering wheels that are accurate for the tractor in question. JD Utility Vehicles, the early years – Frank Tousaw will lead an open discussion on John Deere's entry into the Utility Vehicle Market. Early utility vehicle design, from AMTs to Gators, will be shared by retired John Deere design staff.

Living the "Young Timer" Life - At 11 years old, Zachary Buchheit lives and breathes all things, John Deere. Growing up on the family farm he is the 6th Generation in his family to cultivate, plant, and harvest the land. He is often the subject of his Dad’s "Young Timer" articles in Green Magazine. His zeal for understanding how mechanical things work fuels his adventures through this great hobby of antique tractor & implement collecting. MEMORABILIA & TOY SESSIONS
Anyone can become a memorabilia collector – Wondering how easy it is to start collecting John Deere memorabilia, or not sure where to begin? Join Jim Bandsma for an interactive discussion on all aspects of collecting memorabilia from how to find information on values to where to find these little gems, whether online, at auctions, shows or antique markets. We will also share existing resources that are available to help discover the vastness of JD memorabilia that is out there to collect.
Selling your collection - what's your plan? - Do you have final plans for your collection? What will happen when the day comes to sell it? We've assembled a group of experts ranging from auction company reps to private dealers, and even a prominent collector to discuss what options exist for dispersing of your collection and what plans you may wish to put in place before the time comes. We look forward to sharing our knowledge and experience and attempting to answer any questions you may have on the subject.

Anatomy of Building a Farm Display - Ever thought of building a display from the items in your collection? Wondering where to start? Multi-award-winner Darryl Cox will lead this session, diving into the psychological aspect of why one would want to build a display. From there, he will take a look at selecting a scale, and what the scale will determine. Basic fundamentals including carpentry tips, set up & breakdown as well as transport will be discussed. If you are looking to the next step, he will even jump into entering competitions at shows with some dos & don’ts.

Factory employee badges - John Deere employee badges and buttons come in many shapes, sizes and even colors. This session, lead by Dave Jepson, will delve into the different known examples and discuss the different factories and facilities that utilized badges or buttons. Sales Literature - How to date it and more! - Ever wonder what age or year a piece of sales literature is? What are those funny little alpha-numeric codes on the back of sales brochures, pocket ledgers, and other various pieces of John Deere literature? 3-D printing in the farm toy world – Join Seth Friesen at the intersection of heritage and innovation, where 3D printing is bringing new life to vintage tractors and paving the way for new designs. This talk highlights how additive manufacturing is revolutionizing the farming industry to preserve history and innovate the future. Tractor Wars – Join Neil Dahlstrom as he shares the research, writing, and publication of his book Tractor Wars: John Deere, Henry Ford, International Harvester, and the Birth of Agriculture. Through his research, Neil will share stories from the early days of the farm tractor, the people, places, and machines that introduced mechanical farming across the United States.
Peanut Farming with JD Equipment – Classic Green Southeastern Board member, Hamilton Halford of Perry, Georgia will be traveling north of the Mason-Dixon to allow those in attendance to experience a brief overview, with a southern twist as well as twang, of his experience of dealing with a well know southern caviar known to many as Peanuts. This experience will not dive off into the crux of finite planting and growing experiences, rather, his involvement with this commodity from a young age of around 10 or so, associated with vintage equipment used to gather and harvest them as they did in the early days. This setting will be very, very informal and relaxed with everyone understanding upon conclusion that they are a wonderful food product that does not grow on trees.

LADIES PROGRAM SESSIONS
Scrapbooking and Greeting Cards – This hands-on session for the ladies is all about scrapbooking and greeting cards, including scrapbook borders, journal boxes and tags. For those interested there will be a demonstration on digital scrapbooking. You will be able to view storybooks, mugs and photo panels, as well as traditional items such as Pic Folios, Quick Kits and organizational products. A donation of $1-2 will be requested to help cover the cost of materials.
Buzzing Beauty: beeswax lip balm workshop – Join this hands-on workshop, with Stephanie Slater, to explore the benefits of beeswax and learn about natural skincare! Discover how oils, butters, beeswax and other natural ingredients work together in beauty products and get a step-by-step look at the process of creating lip balms. Perfect for beginners and natural skincare enthusiasts!
The Buzz on Beekeeping – Want to know more about beekeeping? Interested in how you can support local honey bees and other pollinators even if you aren't going to keep bees? Living the "Young Timer" Life - At 11 years old, Zachary Buchheit lives and breathes all things, John Deere. Growing up on the family farm he is the 6th Generation in his family to cultivate, plant, and harvest the land. He is often the subject of his Dad’s "Young Timer" articles in Green Magazine. His zeal for understanding how mechanical things work fuels his adventures through this great hobby of antique tractor & implement collecting. We will also share existing resources that are available to help discover the vastness of JD memorabilia that is out there to collect.
Selling your collection - what's your plan? - Do you have final plans for your collection? What will happen when the day comes to sell it? We've assembled a group of experts ranging from auction company reps to private dealers, and even a prominent collector to discuss what options exist for dispersing of your collection and what plans you may wish to put in place before the time comes. Multi-award-winner Darryl Cox will lead this session, diving into the psychological aspect of why one would want to build a display. From there, he will take a look at selecting a scale, and what the scale will determine. Basic fundamentals including carpentry tips, set up & breakdown as well as transport will be discussed. 3-D printing in the farm toy world – Join Seth Friesen at the intersection of heritage and innovation, where 3D printing is bringing new life to vintage tractors and paving the way for new designs. This talk highlights how additive manufacturing is revolutionizing the farming industry to preserve history and innovate the future. This will include scales, history, different series of models, what is collectible and what is not, and general information on how to get started. CORPORATE HISTORY & GENERAL INTEREST SESSIONS
Tractor Wars – Join Neil Dahlstrom as he shares the research, writing, and publication of his book Tractor Wars: John Deere, Henry Ford, International Harvester, and the Birth of Agriculture. Through his research, Neil will share stories from the early days of the farm tractor, the people, places, and machines that introduced mechanical farming across the United States.
Peanut Farming with JD Equipment – Classic Green Southeastern Board member, Hamilton Halford of Perry, Georgia will be traveling north of the Mason-Dixon to allow those in attendance to experience a brief overview, with a southern twist as well as twang, of his experience of dealing with a well know southern caviar known to many as Peanuts. This experience will not dive off into the crux of finite planting and growing experiences, rather, his involvement with this commodity from a young age of around 10 or so, associated with vintage equipment used to gather and harvest them as they did in the early days. This setting will be very, very informal and relaxed with everyone understanding upon conclusion that they are a wonderful food product that does not grow on trees.

Scrapbooking and Greeting Cards – This hands-on session for the ladies is all about scrapbooking and greeting cards, including scrapbook borders, journal boxes and tags. For those interested there will be a demonstration on digital scrapbooking. You will be able to view storybooks, mugs and photo panels, as well as traditional items such as Pic Folios, Quick Kits and organizational products. A donation of $1-2 will be requested to help cover the cost of materials.
Buzzing Beauty: beeswax lip balm workshop – Join this hands-on workshop, with Stephanie Slater, to explore the benefits of beeswax and learn about natural skincare! Discover how oils, butters, beeswax and other natural ingredients work together in beauty products and get a step-by-step look at the process of creating lip balms. Perfect for beginners and natural skincare enthusiasts!
The Buzz on Beekeeping – Want to know more about beekeeping? Interested in how you can support local honey bees and other pollinators even if you aren't going to keep bees?
